I’ve been to several Coachella festivals, but I usually focus on seeing bands that I already know and want to see, or bands that my friends want to see. This year I’ve decided to go through the lineup and discover the bands that I’m not already familiar with. In Coachell Discovery #1 we met Albert Cross and Bajofondo. In that post I found a band that I’m not really going to bother with (Alberta Cross) and a band that I am interested in seeing more from (Bajofondo). Here today, we have a similar situation.

Prior to this post, I was familiar with Beirut in name only, after watching a video and listening to a second song on Coachella.com, I’m not sure I’ll take the time to look into them any further. Buraka Som Sistema, however, is like Bajofondo in that I am intrigued by the song on Coachella.com and may have to make time for their performance on April 17th.

The lineup for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was announced this morning. And I am happy to say it’s a pretty amazing lineup. The main headliners alone are a power trio: The Killers, Sir Paul McCartney, and the Cure. Formidable by any measure. There are a TON of other bands playing that I’m really stoked to see, too.
